CraneEater Community Church from Calhoun, GA kicked off our summer mission trips to Guatemala. The group spent the week hosting VBS for Toca, working on the well and painting at the nursing home, and attended the dedication of the new property for Luz De Esperanza (Light Of Hope Adult School). Toca and Jehovah Jireh had a first time basketball tournament that was filled with excitement, laughter, and pizza. The team traveled to the top of a mountain to attend a Guatemalan church service and was in awe of how rough the terrain was that the locals traveled in order to attend church. The week ended with a baptism in the local lake where 13 students were baptized along with distributing food bags to the community. Thank you CraneEater Church for your support to LOTN and the people of Guatemala.
Center Point Church from Griffin, GA was the second group of the summer and they began the week with a VBS held at Pastor Juan's church property. It was an amazing time of sharing God's love, arts & crafts, singing, and a snack to end the day. The next day the group traveled 1.5 hours to a village called Cartucho where they attended a Guatemalan Church service and hosted VBS for the kids. The remainder of the week was spent with VBS at Toca, painting the outside walls of Toca, and minor construction/clean up of the school's property. A dedication for the well at the nursing home was held, along with painting and spending time with the residents. The week ended with visiting homes of Toca students and distributing food bags. Thank you Center Point Church for your continued love and dedication to LOTN and the people of Guatemala.
The Gate Church from Davenport, FL was the third group of the summer. Their week began with Family Day for the students and parents of Jehovah Jireh School at a lake where the team brought the word, singing, and praying in the altar with families. After lunch was served, the team hosted VBS for the students while the parents had a seperate time for class. Toca was blessed with several days of VBS that was filled with potato sack racing, arts & crafts, and God's love. This team brought VBS to the nursing home and the residents played BINGO. I believe this was a first for many of them and the joy upon their faces when they won Bingo and was awarded a prize. Any teammates not working VBS were busy painting and finishing up from where the first group began this summer. The group attended a local Guatemalan church service where the group ministered one-on-one in the altar with the people. Pastor Juan and Adelita provided families in the new church's community for the group to visit and provide food bags. Thank you The Gate Church for your love and support to LOTN and the people of Guatemala.
