Light of the Nations has established a comprehensive and multifaceted approach to aid and development, encompassing a variety of programs to support and empower local communities.
Our work in this beautiful, yet often challenged country includes Churches, Outreach Programs, Educational Initiatives, Nursing Home Care & Medical Mission Group.
Each of these initiatives is designed not only to meet immediate needs but also to promote long-term, sustainable development within the Guatemalan communities we serve. Our efforts are rooted in a deep commitment to uplift and empower, creating lasting positive change in the lives of individuals and families.
Pastor Juan and Adelita are both servants of God and have a desire to see the Kingdom full. They both work full-time while raising two amazing children. Adelita is pursuing a nursing degree while pastoring alongside her husband. They recently began clearing property they own to build a church for a community in San Benito Guatemala. Pastor Juan's vision isn't just for a church but to have youth and children's programs to reach all ages. Please consider donating to help us build a church and to support Pastor Juan and Adelita.

The first photo shows the property as it was initially, covered in grass and in need of significant preparation. Thanks to the generous support of donors, we raised funds to clear the land and build it up with loads of gravel, creating a solid foundation for the future. The second photo shows the incredible progress made so far.
If you would like to support this project, please consider making a donation. Be sure to include a note specifying that your contribution is for "Fares Kadosh". Every bit helps us continue this meaningful work.

Nestled in the heart of Guatemala lies a haven of care and compassion – the region's sole nursing home dedicated to providing shelter and comfort to the elderly. This nursing home is more than just a facility; it's a sanctuary for those who, without this refuge, would face the uncertainty and dangers of life on the streets.
Understanding the challenges of aging, especially for those in dire circumstances, the nursing home strives to offer a nurturing and secure environment for its residents. However, the reality of resource constraints means that the facility sometimes struggles to provide complete meals to those under its care.
Recognizing this pressing need, our recent collaboration has been focused on enhancing the quality of life for the residents. A significant achievement in this endeavor is the successful drilling of a well. This project, brought to fruition through the generosity of donors, now ensures a steady supply of clean, life-sustaining water. It marks a crucial step towards creating a safe, healthy, and peaceful living space for the elderly.
The nursing home's mission goes beyond just meeting physical needs; it's about upholding dignity, offering companionship, and ensuring the well-being of each resident. It's a place where the twilight years of life are met with respect, care, and a community spirit, ensuring that every individual feels valued and supported.
As we continue to support and work alongside this nursing home, our commitment remains steadfast: to ensure that the elderly in our community receive the care and attention they deserve, surrounded by an environment that not only sustains life but also enriches it in every aspect.
October 2024 was the 2nd year of a free 3-day medical clinic held at Toca to provide free medical service to the San Benito community of Guatemala. In just three remarkable days, a dedicated team from the USA along with the Mayor of San Benito achieved what can only be described as a monumental feat of compassion and medical support. In an impressive demonstration of healthcare outreach, over one thousand individuals received much-needed medical attention, embodying the profound impact of community care and volunteerism.
Guiding our medical outreach with dedication and compassion were Chuck and Amanda Butler from Center Point Church in Griffin, GA. As part of a committed team, they played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of our medical services. Along with several others from the medical field. Together, they addressed the unique health needs of each patient, providing not just medical treatment but also a sense of hope and relief to the community.
Central to this effort was a well-organized pharmacy, set up specifically for this event. It played a crucial role in ensuring that every individual had access to the necessary medications. This aspect of the support system was pivotal in not only treating immediate health concerns but also in contributing to the ongoing well-being of the community.
The impact on children was particularly noteworthy. Young ones, who often face barriers to accessing healthcare, received critical medical services. These interventions are vital for their growth and health, marking a significant step in nurturing a healthier future generation.
A highlight of this medical outreach was the team traveled to Cartucho, a village that is 1.5 hours away from Flores (where the group stays) and hosted the village's first-ever medical clinic. The group saw around 50 patients in a make-shift clinic and pharmacy. The mini clinic was set up in the open air church immediately following the church service the team attended.
To wrap up the week the team visited the nursing home and were able to provide medical beds along with other much needed medical supplies that had arrived in July on the container. After a week of ministering to people's physical needs a healing service where we ministered to the spiritual needs of the people as well.
As we look back on this amazing week, we are reminded of the ongoing need for medical support in communities. The success of this program fuels our commitment to continue such initiatives, reaching out to those in need and providing essential healthcare services that can transform lives.
