A Journey from One to Many

The story of TOCA, which means "Touch," is a remarkable story of compassion, faith, and transformation that began in an unlikely place—a local dump.

Years ago, while serving in the community, the Light of the Nations team witnessed firsthand the difficult conditions many children and families faced each day. Seeing children searching for food and families struggling to survive created a deep conviction that something more had to be done. What began as a burden on the heart soon became a calling: to create a place where children could receive an education, experience the love of Christ, and be given hope for a brighter future.

That calling led to the founding of TOCA. The school began humbly in an old guard shack, serving just a handful of students. What started as a simple act of faith quickly grew as more families sought opportunities for their children to learn, grow, and dream beyond their circumstances.

Today, TOCA serves approximately 90 students and continues to expand its impact. In 2023, the ministry took another significant step forward with the addition of Bekah's Place, a junior high school designed to provide continued educational opportunities for students as they grow. In 2025, Bekah's Place celebrated its first graduating class, marking another milestone in the journey God has faithfully guided from the very beginning.

TOCA's story is about far more than buildings or enrollment numbers. It is the story of lives being transformed through education, encouragement, and the love of Christ. What began with a burden for children living in desperate circumstances has become a place where young people can learn, thrive, and discover the hope and purpose God has for their lives.

Today, TOCA continues to be a beacon of hope, touching lives one student at a time and demonstrating how faith, compassion, and obedience can create lasting change for generations.
